Does this sound like your current experience today?
It’s Monday. You’re counting check and cash donations received during services this weekend across your four campuses. You then have to enter separate batches of donations into MinistryPlatform for each service and campus, processing the checks separately from the cash. Then comes the Batch Posting report to make sure the totals match across the deposit slip before you can create the deposit for today. You still have to make the bank run with the deposit, finalize credit card batches that come from your giving solution, create a MinistryPlatform deposit for those donations, and ensure that the deposit matches what was already posted to the bank by your giving vendor. You can finally import your deposits into your accounting solution but have to use a custom export from MinistryPlatform’s donations distribution screen and then manipulate it further in Excel so you can import that into your accounting solution. Not to mention, you have to do a separate import for each donation source.
But you’re still not done! You repeat this process later in the week to process the mailed donations and midweek gifts that have flowed in, as well as the cafe and bookstore revenue.
