I am a planner. I am not really a “fly by the seat of my pants” person. So, with that I have a philosophy on packing. If I leave for a trip on Wednesday, I like to have everything in the suitcase by Monday night. I have had to start this process of pulling out the stuff even earlier with children of course! I can’t just grab and throw. Otherwise, you get there and have 4 pairs of jeans and no socks. The extra day gives you time to grab anything you might have otherwise forgotten. (and of course a check list for the final morning items to review before departing)
Our Ideas to Impact Conference is just around the corner. Have you started your pre-packing for it? I don’t mean your comfy clothes and perhaps a sweater in case the classroom is a little chilly. I mean the planning of your schedule! There are over 200 classes and sessions available! Each session is not available in each time spot. So, you need to think it through. Otherwise, just like the lack of socks, you will get towards the end of the week and realize you missed out on something that you really wanted to learn about. You want to make the most of your time, so take a look at the class agenda and make yourself a pencil schedule. http://www.ideastoimpact.com/classes or on your mobile phone download the application at http://ideastoimpact2012.sched.org
Remember, it’s in “pencil”, you are not formally committed! Just go ahead and start reviewing the options and build your own personal schedule just for you. This will help you maximize your time and trip. I look forward to seeing you there. Let the packing begin!
