The American Beliefs Study

(formally known as The Quadrennium Project)

Religious Survey of American Beliefs, Preferences, and Practices

The American Beliefs Study is a national religious survey of American beliefs, preferences and practices conducted every 4 years. There are two reports in the The American Beliefs Study series for 2021. The first report is called ReligiousInsite. It provides insights into community beliefs and religious preferences. The
second report is called MinistryInsite. The focus of this report is on practical applications of the 2021 survey. It includes life concerns, reasons for non-participation or considered nonparticipation in a religious congregation or community and a list of preferred ministries or programs–all of which is based upon the very specific profile of the study area.

One final innovation for this survey version is the “Priorities” reports for each of the larger reports. In ReligiousInsite Priorities and MinistryInsite Priorities—using MissionInsite analytics—our highly customized priority lists zoom the reader into the heart of their study area concerns: program and ministry preferences for targeted ministry applications.

It accomplishes this by matching a select set of variables from within the Mosaic Segment of a study area with the part of the study area in which its core people reside. To accomplish this, a Mosaic Profile of both the study area and the organization’s core people is generated within the MissionInsite PeopleView System.
